Making Everyday Better Though Volunteering
This fall the Y is impacting the community more than ever! Our volunteers are vital to the crucial community work we do. This fall 221 volunteers are registered to support programs ranging from coaching soccer to giving out lunches to seniors.
Volunteer Spotlight
In Collaboration with Partnership for a Healthier America, The YMCA of Metro Detroit is offering “Good Food for ALL” a complimentary 12 week produce box program. Registrants pick up a 22lb box of fresh fruits and vegetables from a variety of YMCA and community locations each Friday, between October 1 and ending December 17. We are two weeks in and serving over 900 in the metro Detroit Community! We could not do this without our staff and volunteers.
Upcoming Fun
This weekend, join us for a spooktacular night of fortune telling, not-so-scary stories, healthy treats, obstacles courses, haunted locker rooms, games, crafts and so much more! All events are outside and volunteers are needed! Bring your families, you do not need to be a Y member to join the fun!
Reminder: A new volunteer process at the Y!
In June of 2021, the YMCA of metro Detroit launched a rejuvenated volunteer program. For the first time, volunteers register through our website. Volunteers also now have an account with a log-in and can see volunteer opportunities available at any time!
