Prospective members can donate a backpack, lunchbox or other essential school supplies to the YMCA and join for $25 through Aug. 31. Donation stay in the local communities in each branch and help children in need, including those who have left their homes due to domestic violence.

Want to keep your kitchen clean before the big Thanksgiving feast? Olga’s Kitchen is donating a portion of sales on Wednesday, Nov. 21 to the Metro Youth YMCA I Can Achieve program’s Adopt-A-Family project. Diners need to present the attached flyer for the donation to be registered.

Youth who participate in the I CAN ACHEIVE program are giving back by helping a needy family this holiday season. On Thursday, Nov. 15th, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Shield’s Pizza on 25101 Telegraph Road in Southfield will donate a percentage of food purchases to the YMCA I CAN ACHIEVE program’s Adopt-a-Family fund.
