Youth Basketball League
Welcome to the Fall 2026 Season!
Get ready to hit the court! The YMCA Youth Basketball League helps players build skills, confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game in a positive and supportive environment. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or returning for another season, everyone has a place on our team.
Our volunteer coaches focus on development, sportsmanship, and fun—because at the Y, success is about more than the final score!
Registration Information
August 7: Volunteer coach and YMCA member registration opens
August 21: Registration opens for the public
October 21: Registration closes
Space is limited, so register early to secure your player’s spot!
League Logistics
Players will practice once per week at their home YMCA branch. Games will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, with teams traveling between the five participating branches:
- Boll Family YMCA
- Downriver Family YMCA
- Farmington Family YMCA
- Macomb Family YMCA
- South Oakland Family YMCA
Game locations will rotate throughout the season, giving players the chance to take the court at different YMCA branches.
The season will culminate with Championship Day on December 19 at the UWM Sports Complex in Pontiac! At the YMCA, everyone is a winner—standings and individual statistics are not kept. Our league focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun for every player.
Important League Dates
- Week of October 12: Practices begin and parent-coach information meetings take place
- Weekend of October 24: First weekend of games
- December 19: Championship Day at UWM Sports Complex in Pontiac

League Expectations & Rules
All spectators at YMCA Basketball League games are expected to follow the Spectator Code of Conduct. Anyone who does not adhere to these standards may be asked to leave and could be suspended from future games. We ask all guests to model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Inclusion.
Volunteer Coaching
Volunteers Needed! This league is not possible without volunteer coaches and referees, click below for more information. Training will be provided. All coaches will receive a Coach Shirt, Coaching Handbook, Practice Plans, and supply bag!
