When school is out, fun is in at the Y. School break camp includes all of the fun character-building camp activities any time school is out. The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit offers school break camps for elementary children, preschoolers and teens at most of our YMCA branches.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit operates two overnight camps in Michigan that meet the needs of everyone, from first-time campers to teens seeking a memorable experience. Our camp programs offer a variety of outdoor adventures led by trained and experienced leaders who guide campers in having an unforgettable experience.
YMCA Camp Nissokone
Overlooking nearly a mile of breathtaking shoreline in Oscoda, Camp Nissokone has been Michigan’s premier northern adventure camp connecting youth, families and groups to the outdoors since 1914. Nissokone has over 100 years of experience helping campers discover self-confidence while celebrating new friendships and accomplishments. Our caring, responsible staff empowers campers to learn about the world, develop interpersonal skills, and try new and creative activities – whether a child is spending the night away from home for the first time or a teen is building leadership skills year after year. Nissokone is best known for our exciting adventure activities, teen leadership development, expert equestrian programs and family camp. Bussing is available from Birmingham and Livonia.
YMCA Camp Ohiyesa
Lifelong memories are made at Camp Ohiyesa, a great escape without a ticket or an “are we there yet.” Situated on 300 acres overlooking Fish Lake in Holly, Ohiyesa offers an array of activities, from zip lining to archery to horseback riding. Our knowledgeable, outgoing staff helps overnight campers safely step out of their comfort zones to learn new skills and build confidence. Since 1918, youth, families and groups have turned to Camp Ohiyesa for summer day camp, overnight camp, group retreats and family vacations. We offer convenient transportation options throughout Oakland, Livingston, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.
