Believe it or not, the start of school is right around the corner. Just a few more weeks and it will be back to the morning rush and evenings filled with homework and practices.
So it’s important to make the most of those last bits of family time and enjoy the fleeting days of summer. And Camp Nissokone has a great way to make that happen. For Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30-Sept.2) families can enjoy all the fun of summer camp together.
Parents can revisit their own camp memories and make new ones with their children. Imagine ziplining through the Northern Michigan forest, or taking a guided tour of the Au Sable river by canoe. You can go tubing on the lake, ride on horseback through the trails, and take on your friends in a game of paintball. All activities are guided by experienced YMCA staff. And of course, it wouldn’t be camp unless the night ends with songs around the campfire.
For those of us who are perhaps not the outdoorsy types, all three meals are provided daily and there are hot showers! Families share cabins that are big enough for 8-10 people and comfortably accommodate two groups with private sleeping areas.
Cost is $160 per adult and $84 per child for three nights accommodations, all meals and activities, which mean a family of four can enjoy a getaway for under $500 inclusive. And according to people who have made family camp an annual tradition, the memories are priceless. Find out more and sign up on Camp NIssokone’s website.
