Birmingham Family YMCA Members,
Join us for an Interactive Visioning Workshop on Monday, February 10, at 5:30 p.m. at Birmingham City Hall (151 Martin Street) to help shape the future of the proposed Birmingham Community & Senior Center—a facility that may include YMCA operations alongside Next senior services.
This workshop, hosted by the Birmingham City Commission, will feature a presentation by Neumann Smith Architects and an Architectural Visual Preference Survey where attendees can weigh in on the look and feel of the center using their cell phones. Your input will help determine key design elements such as the exterior form, entryway, and building materials.
The proposed $32 million center, located at 400 E. Lincoln (formerly the YMCA building), will appear on the August 2025 ballot as part of a 20-year bond proposal funded by a .52-mill tax. This is your chance to be involved in shaping a space that could serve YMCA members, seniors, and the greater Birmingham community.
Attend in person or via Zoom: Join Here
We encourage all YMCA members to participate in this important conversation about the future of our community.
See you there!
Sincerely,
Kelly Stubbe
Executive Director
