A week of performance and play where campers discover their inner superstar.
Join us for an exciting week of performance and play! Your camper will discover their inner superstar working alongside a talented local theatre professional learning the basics of acting and storytelling. Theatre training is great for young people to learn self-awareness, teamwork, self-expression, cooperation, and confidence.
Theatre Campers will spend the week working with a professional local actor playing theatre games, learning to play characters, show emotion, project their voices, how to move on stage, and more. Camp culminates in a performance for friends and family at the Marlene Boll Theatre at the Boll Family YMCA in downtown Detroit. The culminating performance will be recorded and available to parents, guardians, and friends who are unable to attend.
This exciting new program will be designed in collaboration with Y Arts and local youth theatre veteran instructor, Karen Kron Dickson and Kelly Boczek-Petrie.
