Summer Day Camp Counselors
We are looking for fun, creative, energetic staff for summer day camp, a crucial Y program for Youth Development. Counselors will be responsible for the supervision, implementation, and development of activity plans for a group of children, including assisting in the child’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive development. Experience with Day Camp or working with children is preferred.
Staff must be able to work from June 10-August 30 plus training towards the end of May and beginning of June. Staff will work 30-38 hours a week and between the hours of 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday-Friday All staff must be at least 18 years old by May 31, 2013.

We are looking for fun, creative, energetic staff for before and after care portion of summer day camp. The individual must have the ability to lead activities and have a strong desire to work with children. Applicants must be able to work from June 10- August 30. This is a split shift and staff will work 15-25 hours a week and anytime from 6:45-9:00 a.m. and/or 3:45- 6:15 p.m. Monday-Friday. All staff must be at least 18 years old by June 10, 2013.

School Age Child Care Staff
The Lakeshore Y is seeking quality applicants for Site Director and Site Assistant in our School Aged Child Care program. Please see below for details.
Site Director Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in childcare or related field. Fun, energetic, creative leader wanted to lead staff and children in our before and after care program. Must be 19 to apply; must have college credits in childcare or related field. Education students or teachers preferred. Possible 20 hours a week. (Morning and Afternoon Shifts Available; Schedule is 6:45a-9:00a and 3:00p-6:00p).
Site Assistant Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in childcare or related field. Fun, energetic, caring individuals wanted to work with elementary aged students in our aftercare program. Must be 18 to apply. (Morning and Afternoon Shifts Available; Schedule is 6:45a-9:00a and 3:00p-6:00p).
Our Before and After School programs runs in four elementary schools, two in the East Detroit Public School district and two National Heritage Academies. This split shift is perfect for college students, substitute teachers, or individuals who want to pick up some extra hours and love working with children. Child Watch Staff
More than ever, busy parents need support. When parents come to the Y for a class, group activity or workout, their kids need a safe, enriching environment where they can build healthy, trusting relationships with other kids and adults. At Child Watch, children play under the supervision of caring, trained Y staff. At the same time, their parents are able to relax, connect with other Y members and enjoy healthy activities at the Y.
The Child Watch staff member is expected to create a fun, educational, nurturing, caring, and safe environment for children at the Y. Staff must be fun, energetic, patient, caring, and always engaging with the children at their physical level. Safety of all children that are in the care of the attendance is the #1 responsibility.

Group Exercise Instructor

The Y is seeking experienced Group Exercise Instructors to join our team. Qualifications include a nationally recognized group exercise certification as well as CPR certification to apply. We are looking for instructors in a wide range of specialties, including: Hi/Lo aerobics, Senior aerobics, and Karate. Both morning and evening classes are available.

Member Services
Seeking motivated team players for part-time customer relations positions. This position is responsible for providing friendly, courteous and helpful service to members and participants. Responsibilities include greeting and verifying members, processing registrations and payments, assisting with membership initiatives, maintaining lobby areas, opening and closing duties and other duties as necessary.
Experience in customer service is preferred. Applicant must have strong clerical skills, flexibility and be able to adapt to change. Must have ability to effectively communicate both in person and over the phone. Afternoon and evening shifts are available. Weekend shifts may be required as well.
