Greetings YMCA Family,

Thank you for being a member of our YMCA. We miss you and we miss having our facilities and program sites busy making an impact on the lives of children, youth and adults every day.

Please know that while all our facilities are closed we are focusing on our food program, we are providing 500 to 800 meals daily to children and young adults Monday – Friday. We could not do this without the continued support of members and donors like you. We are also sharing online health, wellness and educational services for you and your family to use.

We understand you may have questions about your membership dues at this time. We ask you to consider staying with us as members. If you do wish to contact us to make changes to your membership, please email membershiprequest@ymcadetroit.org.  We have various options for you, including up to a $100 credit to be used toward future programming when you continue to support our communities.

One of our staff will contact you to discuss what options will best meet you and your family’s needs. Then we will process your request as quickly as possible. At this time we are focusing our resources to best serve the community; to that end, our remaining staff is primarily focused on food distribution. Please be patient with us as we work to get back to you.

The YMCA has served Metropolitan Detroit for 168 years. We are a community service organization, a nonprofit that exists to make a positive impact in three key areas, family and community, child and youth development and health and wellness.

We look forward to reopening as soon as possible, to being your Center of Community and a vital partner in creating thriving communities.

Moving forward, we will attempt to limit our emails to one to two times per week. The best place to get updates and more resources is to visit ymcadetroit.org and/or social media sites like Facebook (@YMCAdetroit). This is our way to help you and your family make each day a little better.

Lastly, many have asked how they can help. Information is on our blog about how to Help the Y Help Others. Thank you for your membership.

These are challenging times, please stay with us.

Making Every Day Better,

Helene Weir

President and CEO, YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
