A cast of 42 young actors, dancers and singers have been practicing hard this winter to launch the Livonia Y’s inaugural theater production. The curtain goes up this Thursday on the group’s staging of “The Wizard of Oz.”

Members from the Livonia and Farmington Ys are hotly contesting the second edition of The Battle of Farmington Road this month, trying to rack up enough biking,, swimming and walking miles to allow Livonia to wrest back the trophy Farmington won during the first battle in December.
