Martial Arts are a fun way for both boys and girls to achieve fitness and focus, self-discipline and socialization skills. Our Ys offer a variety of styles of martial arts practice.

Little Dragons Karate ages 3-5

Little Dragons Karate teaches basic Karate techniques and focuses on balance and coordination through fun games style activities that promote positive attitudes, develop strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, discipline and teaches enhanced concentration & self confidence.

Beginner Karate ages 6-17

Through practice of basic techniques, kata (forms), and various levels of sparring, students learn self-defense. Listening and following instruction is a main focus in this class while teaching the basics of Karate, as children progress they become leaders in their class and learn to have confidence in themselves. Kids move through the first three ranks of the American Karate System in Beginner Karate.

Tae Kwan Do ages 4 and up

Our Tae Kwon Do classes develop gross motor skills and introduce martial arts concepts through the use of movement, games, and child-friendly drills.

Aikido ages 5 and up

Aikido is a way of study developed from the code of the Japanese Samurai. The physical movements are based on fighting techniques, utilizing balance, timing and alignment. Although the techniques are martial, the main focus of Aikido is harmony. Most Aikido practice is done with a partner. The movements may appear to be fighting techniques, but actually are two people working with each other to create an energetic technique and wonderful feeling together.

Tang Soo Do Karate ages 4 and up

Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean form of Karate that promotes positive attitudes, develops strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, discipline and teaches enhanced concentration & self-confidence.
