The Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is a way for young people to help others, have some fun, and learn something while doing it. YVC offers more than community service hours; it is a way to intentionally expand ideas and boundaries of the youth involved. Volunteers will learn about their community, job opportunities and themselves by participating in exciting, challenging, and worthwhile service projects.
We know kids are busy, so the amount of time spent as a Youth Volunteer is all up to the individual. We work on projects year-round so volunteers can join us for as many of them as they’d like. Every YVC project incorporates service-learning to help youth understand the impact of their volunteering as well as team-building games to help youth feel comfortable and get them working together. All YVC projects involve a team of young people working with YMCA staff.
Kids can participate in YVC year-round. During the summer (early July through the end of August) our “Summer of Service” has scheduled weekly activities.

We've partnered with The ACTIVE® Network to provide easy program registration for Y Members and Community participants.
