EnhanceFitness is an evidence-based fitness class that helps those with arthritis or chronic pain become more active, energized and empowered to sustain independent lives. The class focuses on strength, flexibility, balance and cardio endurance. You’ll move at a pace that is comfortable for you—it’s never more than you can handle. The group support will help keep you motivated. Participants can either sit or stand during the class.

EnhanceFitness classes use wrist/ankle weights. A certified instructor, who has completed the EnhanceFitness training, will safely lead the class through an hour of dynamic exercises, three times a week, at a pace that’s right for the participants.

This is a Y member benefit program and $40 for 12 weeks for Community participants

Each class includes:

  • 5-minute warm-up
  • 20 minutes of movement to lively music
  • 5-minute cool-down
  • 20 minutes of strength training with soft ankle/wrist weights
  • 10 minutes of stretching to keep muscles flexible
  • Balance exercises throughout the session
