School Age Child Care Staff

Site Assistant Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience in childcare or related field. Fun, energetic, caring individuals wanted to work with elementary aged students in our before school program. Must be 18 to apply. (2-3 Morning Shifts Available; Schedule is 6:15am-8:00am)
 
Our Before and After School programs are based out of Walton Charter Academy in Pontiac. The school is two miles from the Auburn Hills Y. We are located on site at the school from 6:15 a.m. until the bell rings for the start of the school day and again in the afternoon from the last bell to 6:00 p.m. This shift is perfect for college students, substitute teachers, or individuals who want to pick up some extra hours and love working with children. Certified Group Exercise Instructor

North Oakland YMCA is looking for Nationally Certified Group Exercise Instructor to join our productive team! Candidates must have current National Certification, current CPR and AED. Experience teaching group exercise is important but not required. Those chosen to go through the New Hire process must first pass an audition. Lifeguard

The North Oakland Family YMCA is looking for lifeguards that are responsible for ensuring the safety of all members and program participants within the aquatic facility by being on the guard stand or patrolling. He/she will be responsible for carrying out and enforcing aquatic policies and procedures in compliance with the statutes as described by the State of Michigan, the YMCA of the USA, Jeff Ellis and Associates and the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit. Swim Lesson Instructor

A swim instructor is responsible for teaching all levels of the National YMCA Swim Lesson program. This person will keep accurate attendance records, develop lesson plans and distribute family huddles and progress reports to all swimmers as well as evaluate and assess skill level and progress of all swimmers. Swim Team Head Coach

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director, the Head Swim Coach will be responsible for the overall organization, management and daily operation of the branch Swim Team program. He or she will be responsible for managing a quality program according to the established policies, missions and expectations of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit and the YMCA of the USA. Swim Team Assistant Coach

Assistant coach for boys and girls in the YMCA competitive swimming program. The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of directing the team’s practices and its participation in meets. Attendance at practices three days a week is mandatory. League and Invitational meets will be held on select Saturdays and Sundays from October – February. Building Supervisors

The North Oakland Y is currently looking for a building supervisor to join their staff team. We are looking for staff that are able to multi-task, be the lead staff in emergencies, handle conflict professionally, set up and take down party rentals, handle registrations on the computer, and supervise the building during their shift. The individual will be responsible for opening and/or closing the building during certain shifts.
 
Staff will work anywhere from 4-15 hours a week. Morning shifts will take place from 4:45 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and evening shifts will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 10:15 p.m. Rotating weekends shifts and after hour party rentals are mandatory. We currently have openings for one to two evening shifts with rotating weekend shifts. This part time position starts off at $8.00 an hour and it includes a Y membership. One must past a background check and a drug test at the time of hire.
