SWIM TEAM

Joining a swim team develops confidence and self-discipline in kids. Besides learning new skills, kids build comraderie and enjoy the challenge of racing in the pool.

Y swim teams emphasize the value of competition through teamwork, sportsmanship and doing one's best. Our swim coaches strive to offer a well-rounded, values-centered program for every level of swimmer.

Farmington Family YMCA Stingrays (FFYS )

FFYS is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well rounded competitive swim team.

The Stingrays began in 1997 and have accomplishments ranging from 8 & under YMCA state runners-up (2001) to YMCA Zone Meet runners-up (2006, 2007); and even a YMCA Long Course National runner-up finish (2007). The competitive program runs year-round with sessions offered in the Fall (September–February); Spring (April–May) and Summer (June–July).

FFYS is coming off another great season which saw the 100 plus member team finish 4th at the 2011 YMCA Great Lakes Zone Championships, held at Ohio State University and took 11 athletes to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in April for the 2011 YMCA Short Course Nationals. All of this on top of great fun and exciting social events ranging from hayrides to bowling parties makes FFYS a great choice for good, clean fun for your swimmer!
