ADULT WATER FITNESS

Take to the water for fun and fitness! We offer a variety of water fitness programs for all fitness levels—and you don't have to be a swimmer to participate! The aquatic exercise programs—which take place mainly in the shallow water— range from joint range of motion classes to high intensity aerobic classes. Exercising in the water provides a challenging workout in a near weightless and zero impact environment.

Aqua Dynamics/Water Fitness 3

Experience a water workout for the entire body! Using the resistance of the water and specialized water equipment, trained instructors will guide you through a 75 minute program to strengthen and tone arms, legs, abdominals and especially the heart muscle. This program will also improve your flexibility and coordination. Participants work at your own pace. Water shoes required, please.

Deep Water Aerobics/Water Fitness 2

This class works your core muscle group (abdominals & back) with little or no impact. A deep water workout provides strengthening and toning qualities while using the natural resistance of the water as well as specialized equipment. No need to be a swimmer, deep water flotation belts help keep you afloat. Water shoes are not required but recommended.

Try a new twist on water exercise. Using lots of creativity and equipment, come join this “group personal training” program to help improve fitness levels, endurance and overall skill in the water. Water shoes required, please.

Water Circuit Training/Water Fitness 2

This class combines all the elements of a great workout! Travel from a deep water strength and tone to a shallow water cardio workout to a relaxing warm water stretch! Water shoes required, please.

Easy Does It Water Exercise (Gentle Water Exercise)

Keeping the unique limitations of arthritis in mind, this class emphasizes gentle movements to promote a wide range of motion and joint flexibility with very low cardiovascular activity. This class is held in the warm water pool and promotes a great way to relax after a long hard day! Water shoes required, please.

Silver Splash

Designed to work in conjunction with the Silver Sneakers program, Silver Splash is structured around the needs of our senior citizens. Slightly more challenging and vigorous than the Gentle Exercise class, this program encourages life long fitness through the use of a variety of water devices including noodles, barbells and more! Held in the warm water pool. Water shoes are required, please.
